We are on the lookout for a Management Accountant to join our team in Melbourne. You will come with excellent negotiation, communication and relationship management skills to join our highly successful finance team.

About the opportunity:

The focus of this rewarding role is to contribute to the accurate and timely reporting of financial results and to deliver insightful reporting and analysis for management decision making.

Your key Accountabilities include:

• Month-end & quarter-end close, P&L analysis and preparation of reporting schedules
• Contribute to results analysis and commentary to identify key performance drivers
• Contribute to monthly/quarterly reporting for distribution to management
• Reporting and analysis on capital expenditure and SG&A costs
• Business partnering – supporting specific areas of the business with reporting and analysis and the preparation of their annual budget and quarterly forecasts
• Support the company-wide annual budget and quarterly forecast processes
• Accounting for profit and loss and balance sheet accounts including preparation of monthly journals and general ledger reconciliations (task shared across multiple accounting teams)
• Joint venture accounting including preparation of shareholder loan statements and preparing annual dividends
• Assist with implementing and maintaining internal reporting controls and procedures
• Project work as required including the development of new management reports and tools

About You:

To be successful you must demonstrate previous success in a management or financial accounting position ideally gained working within a large agribusiness, manufacturing or FMCG business or alternatively from a Big 4 firm looking for your first move into industry.

In addition, you will also demonstrate:

• Degree in a business-oriented discipline
• CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion)
• 3-4 years’ experience in an accounting role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills & attention to detail
• Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Proven time management skills.
