SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Under limited supervision, the Training Specialist II is responsible for producing performance-based, interactive and engaging learning experiences that will meet the business needs of the departments and the overall organization, effectively meeting the needs of our valued customers. This is a highly collaborative team environment and uses proven instructional design methodologies to analyze learning needs, design and develop content, define measurement strategies and assess the effectiveness of various learning programs. Must excel at facilitating virtually, ensuring participant engagement utilizing creative strategies for impactful and memorable sessions.

Essential Functions:

• Collaborates with subject matter experts throughout the organization to analyze needs, develop appropriate learning objectives, and gather, manage and maintain information
• Establishes a process and schedule for regular audits of learning programs to:
• Evaluate overall alignment with department and organization business objectives and ensure that information is up-to-date
• Selects and recommends appropriate media and delivery methods for content
• Manages role-based learning programs of varying scales from discovery through evaluation within specific timeframes
• Ensures department quality standards and appropriate implementation of content
• Facilitates classes virtually for participants from individual contributors to senior leaders, ensuring participant engagement utilizing creative strategies for impactful and memorable sessions

Other Functions:Problem Solving:

• Identify, recommend, and implement learning solutions for business areas based on analysis of learner’s needs
• Use creativity and sound judgment required to engage learners and determine the level of interactivity, in order to achieve desired learning outcomes
• Seek out assistance to resolve conflicts between subject matter experts when design decisions reach an impasse
• Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of courseware after release and develop actionable strategies and solutions if desired results are not achieved

Decision Making:
Decisions made in this position can be somewhat complex and non-routine. Most decisions pertain to gaining agreement on content to be included in a course, the level of interactivity, and the selection of the appropriate development tool or media with which to use. Training Specialist I will review, analyze, and facilitate discussions to ensure content directly supports performance- based learning objectives.

Span of Influence:
Instructional Designer II will assist in designing and developing learning materials that provide the organization with the appropriate knowledge and skills to be successful.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Strong, virtual facilitation skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, education-related field, or must have equivalent work experience
• 6 – 8 years in an instructional design/development position
• Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with Adult Learning Principles required
• Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience of key instructional design concepts and practices
• Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with new employees via new employee orientation and onboarding processes and procedures
• Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with designing and developing positive “user experiences” around new employee orientation and onboarding
• Strong collaboration skills; networking with all levels of the org and SMEs at all levels
• Strong written and oral communication skills – demonstrated ability to produce clearly written learning materials and articulate key concepts in a clear and

condensed manner

• Must be proficient in MS Office product
• Must be proficient/familiar with Adobe Suite: Storyline, Rise, Premier, etc.
• Must be proficient in MS Teams
• Must be familiar with SharePoint
• Must be familiar working within an LMS (Greenlight)
• Working knowledge of current development tools and trends preferred
• Must demonstrate leadership behaviors: accountability, clear vision, external focus, courage and personal impact
