The Role
We’re looking for a finance manager to take responsibility for all aspects of Nucco’s finances – Including the preparation of monthly management accounts and management Information, transaction processing, process improvement and financial control. We also want the finance manager to work with the leadership team to improve the profitability of the business.
You will report to the MD UK, and work alongside the Production Partner, who is responsible for all aspects of project delivery including project profitability. The role works closely with the UNIT9 Group Finance team. You will have a dotted line to UNIT9’s Group Financial Controller and will be responsible for reporting in line with group requirements.

What you’ll do day to day

• Production of timely and reliable management accounts on a monthly basis
• Production of insightful management information, including analysis, variance reporting, and KPI dashboards
• Manage annual budgets, cash-flow forecasts & in year forecasts highlighting risks/opportunities
• Transaction processing including accounts receivable, accounts payable, expenses, payroll and intercompany reporting
• Ensure all financial processes and controls are properly followed
• Oversee preparation of the quarterly VAT returns & all other compliance deliverables, including tax & audit
• Audit and tax preparatory work
• Business partnering
• Overall responsibility for the finance system (Paprika) including all administration responsibilities
• Implementation of group strategic changes
• Support business modelling and risk assessment
• Undertake research into pricing, competitors and factors affecting performance
• External relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, suppliers, bankers and statutory organisations such as HM Revenue Customs
• Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
• Ensure the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues.
• Coordinate with UNIT9 Group companies as required

Skills and abilities you’ll need

• CIMA or equivalent recognised accountancy qualification with 2-5+ years post qualification experience
• Experience of agency business operations
• Excellent communicator
• Exemplary reliability and quality, close attention to detail
• Proficient in Excel, Sage, experience of Paprika is a benefit
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and numerical abilities
• Natural problem-solver
• Looking to learn in the role and develop skills and experience

Background experience we are looking for

• Agency experience of running finance or supporting finance in a small or medium sized creative services business
• Experience of setting up processes / company policies relating to finance
• Experience of working with senior agency stakeholders and managing upwards
• Proven history of excellent performance and results

Reward

• Base salary of £40-60k per annum TBA depending on experience
• 3% company contribution to pension
