This is a pivotal role providing technical accounting advice and guidance across the NSW public sector. Treasury offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement in line with operational needs.

As part of the Accounting Policy & Legislation Team, this role provides policy, guidance and advice on complex financial reporting topics across the NSW public sector. This includes developing technical policy and guidance publications and advising on major Government proposals and transactions. There will be extensive exposure to a broad range of key stakeholders, including ministers’ staff, multi-disciplinary Treasury teams and senior finance leaders across the NSW public sector national. The role also requires participation in emerging financial, sustainability and climate reporting developments, engaging with national and international standard setters; professional bodies; regulators; and other Australian jurisdictions.

About the Team
The Financial & Operations Group delivers finance, administration, corporate planning and risk management services. This includes preparing the State’s consolidated financial report.
The Accounting Policy & Leglisation Team publishes financial reporting policies and guidance for the NSW public service; provides advice on complex financial reporting matters; and administers the State’s financial reporting legislation.
