The Opportunity
In this role you will undertake and deliver a range high quality strategic intelligence gathering and synthesis on emerging trends and issues across regional NSW, based on quantitative and qualitative analysis.
The role gathers quantitative and qualitative from a range of sources and communicates complex issues simply, clearly, and effectively in different forums to a range of stakeholders to inform strategic and tactical decision making within DRNSW.
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, practical experience, and a demonstrated ability to form insights and draw conclusions based on analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.
- Technical familiarity and experience handling data in Power BI, SQL, Python or similar quantitative analytical software packages or programs. Experience in Databricks will be considered highly desirable.
- Ability to communicate complex and/or technical issues simply, clearly, and effectively in different forums to a range of stakeholders.
Working as a Senior Analyst Strategic Intelligence you’d be responsible for:
- Intelligence Gathering and Synthesis: Collect and analyse strategic intelligence from various sources to provide valuable insights for decision-making within the DRNSW cluster.
- Assessment Contribution: Utilize internal and external data to contribute to intelligence assessments, identifying emerging issues relevant to DRNSW.
- Data Exploration: Creatively explore diverse data sources to enhance the credibility and relevance of regional programs, using both established and innovative methods.
- Collaboration: Establish and maintain effective relationships with project team members to achieve shared goals and manage associated risks.
- Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrate leadership by building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely analysis informs strategic intelligence ing on regional issues.
- Decision Support: Provide accurate and timely analysis to ensure that decisions are well-informed and based on the best available strategic intelligence, presenting an accurate picture of the current situation.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, from any discipline that involves quantitative and qualitative analysis, for example data science, social analysis, statistics, mathematics, engineering, economics, actuarial studies. Honours level or above is highly desirable.
