About The Role

We are seeking engineering professionals with structural design experience to join the Digital Engineering team within NSW Public Works. With your broad experience, the successful candidate will undertake high level structural engineering design activities working on water infrastructure projects.

Bringing your structural design experience to the organisation, you will:

• Prepare a range of high-level structural engineering deliverables (specifications, calculations, simulations, 2D drawings and 3D models) for government clients working with the Digital Engineering team.
• Produce design deliverables in accordance with Australian, NSW Public Works departmental and Council/ Agency standards and specifications.
• Design a range of different steel structures, concrete pits, foundations, temporary structures for construction using updated software packages such as Microstran, Robot Structural Analysis, Tekla Tedds for buildings, water, wastewater, and other infrastructure projects.
• Work seamlessly with other engineering disciplines, project leaders and project managers to obtain relevant information from clients and stakeholders and assess any constraints and design standards.
• Provide high level technical advice to engineers, consultants and management using modern engineering design packages such as:
• AutoCAD
• Revit
• Strand7
• Microstran
• Robot Structural Analysis
• Tekla Tedds or other related software.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative digital engineering outcomes for NSW Public Works and its clients.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of NSW Public Works’ Digital Engineering transformation, including the development of technical documentation, training of staff members, management of NSW Public Works’ Autodesk Construction Cloud platform and other digital engineering tasks as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have the following:

• A qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering (or similar qualification)
• Proven minimum 2 or more years’ broad experience in a range of structural engineering activities (survey, design, and construction) for water, sewer, treatment plant, road, levee, drainage, and earthworks infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated minimum 2 years’ experience undertaking Structural Engineering design activities including working on water assets.
• High level knowledge and be able to demonstrate high level of proficiency in one of the following software:
• Revit
• Strand7
• Microstran
• Robot Structural Analysis
• Tekla Tedds or other related software.
• Proven knowledge and experience of engineering design and construction standards for civil construction and government infrastructure projects
• The business will support this role with:
