An exciting opportunity exists within NSW Health Pathology as a temporary full time Finance Officer located at Newcastle.

What you’ll be doing
To provide support to the finance team with timely, accurate and quality completion of the broad range of accounting and reporting tasks. To help close the existing gaps in the areas of financial accounting, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), cash, inventory and assets accounting and reporting in an environment of a very lean NSW Health Pathology financial structure.

- Tertiary Qualification in accounting, finance, business or other relevant discipline/or working towards or a combination of study and experience
- Recent and relevant experience in the area of financial accounting and reporting, e.g. preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, sub-ledger accounting, accounts reconciliations
- Experience with or sound understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions
- Demonstrated advanced user of Microsoft Excel. Experience in the use of computer based integrated Financial Management Information Systems
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills including the ability to prioritise and meet strict deadlines
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills and capacity to build, develop and sustain productive working relationships with all levels of staff both internal and external.
