About the team
Corporate Services provides sustainable strategies, solutions and services to enable our clients to deliver with confidence Transport’s vision. The division thrives in providing a robust to commercial management, ensuring financial sustainability across the cluster and driving strategic projects, procurement and transformation through the provision of corporate services to internal clients.
The opportunity
An exciting new opportunity now exists for a Tax Accounting Officer within Transport Shared Services- Finance & Procurement team in our Corporate Services division. This is a Temporary full time opportunity, up to 01.07.2023, based in Burwood however with the current COVID environment the incumbent of the role will have the option of working from home.
The role of Tax Accounting Officer is a new upgraded role in Transport Shared Services – Finance & Procurement team. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a high standard of Tax Accounting services in a highly technical accounting discipline.
You will work closely with the Tax Accountant & Senior Tax Accountant in delivering specific tax accounting activities which include GST, FBT, BAS, Fuel Tax Credits, Payroll Tax etc. You will be responsible to support the processing and management of these services and assist our client agencies to meet legislated tax related obligations.

Essential Requirements:
Experience working in tax accounting in a large organisation
Experience with and sound understanding of relevant legislation and regulations and commercial accounting practices relating to government organisations.
Demonstrated skill in building rapport, understanding stakeholder requirements and resolving concerns.
Demonstrated capability to communicate clearly, concisely and appropriately both orally and in writing.
Sound numeracy ability with solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to adapt, to learn and implement new processes and procedures as new technology, service requirements and work methods emerge
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Transport Grade 6 ($94,879 – $104,367) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
