About the role

This role will support quality corporate financial information management systems that meet the needs of the Department, its customers and key stakeholders. We are looking for an accountant who is familiar with IT, specifically SAP and associated tools

• Lead and direct Projects
• Analyse proposals for system enhancements or changes
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Be up to date with market trends, technology, and systems
• Ensure the operations of business units are supported by providing advice on the interpretation and application of government accounting procedures and policies including the Treasurer’s Directions and Public Finance and Audit Act
• Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting and/or information systems management or in a related discipline and eligibility for membership to a recognised professional accounting body or equivalent relevant workplace experience
