The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) was formed in 2019 with the merger of two former departments Family and Community Services (FACS) and Justice.

The Department of Communities & Justice (DCJ) provides an effective justice system by delivering programs and services which contribute to building safer communities and the protection of rights.

Talent Acquisition works with various business units within DCJ to attract and select the best talent for the job, every time and to significantly improve the candidate experience.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, team member to join the Talent Acquisition team within DCJ. As an Assistant Talent Acquisition Officer, you will work closely with the Talent Acquisition Officers and Team Leader where you will provide administrative support with end to end recruitment processes.

This role will see you involved in various aspects of recruitment including: arranging pre-employment checks such as; medicals, various internal and external service checks and reference checks. You will also be required to review the outcome of those checks, provide timely and professional support to candidates regarding general queries, updates on the status of their application or to request further information from them when needed.

You will be updating and maintaining records and databases ensuring that all information is accurate and stored correctly whilst collaborating and working closely with the rest of the team.

About you

The Talent Acquisition team possess a high drive and huge emphasis on continuing to improve our recruitment model and the candidate experience. To be successful in this role you will have;

• Demonstrated experience in successfully providing business and administration support within an HR environment
• Demonstrated ability to respond, adapt and cope with changing priorities and demands
• The ability to respond, adapt and cope with changing priorities and demands
• The ability to work as part of a team in a complex and sometimes ambiguous environment.
• The ability to maintain a high level of verbal and written communication skills in a high pressure and fast paced environment.
