  • Senior Project Officer with the Water Group at DPE
  • Temporary full time until 30 June 2024 (possibility of extension)
  • Parramatta /Hybrid working supported
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $120,859 to $133,183 + super

The Water Group leads the NSW Government in providing confidence to communities and stakeholders with the transparent stewardship of water resources, provision of services and reforms that support sustainable and healthy environments, economies and societies across NSW.

This role contributes to sound and reliable advice, analysis, and information to support the development of strategy, frameworks and policies that contribute to the delivery of sustainable water services and economic prosperity, sustainable use of resources, vibrant and liveable communities and healthy waterways, with a focus on Metropolitan Water Utilities.

About You

Our Senior Project Officer advises and supports the Water Strategy teams and Executive in the delivery of key government priorities including increased recreation at Prospect Reservoir and expansion planning for Sydney Desalination Plant bringing high quality project management skills to the delivery of this program.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to consider the broad range of issues and factors relevant to the implementation of urban water strategies and their associated regulatory and policy settings to develop, manage and maintain program management systems including program planning and monitoring, ing, governance and risk systems to support the delivery of priority projects and inform the Executive of risks, issues and opportunities.

Key Knowledge And Experience

  • Solid project and/or program management experience
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Government public administration processes, governance, protocols and ing requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a broad range of stakeholders, at a senior level, including Local Government, government and community organisations, peak environmental groups and Aboriginal communities with the capacity to communicate across cultures and a strong understanding of related and stormwater and waterway management issues.
