Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) is a division of the Department of Communities & Justice. It delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce re-offending and enhance community safety. As an important element of the criminal justice system, CSNSW manages correctional centres for remand and convicted inmates as well as providing community-based supervision across Sydney metro and regional NSW.
The People team provides operational,and strategic human resources support to the business to create a safe, resilient and just DCJ where people are supported to realise their potential.
About the role
The Senior HR Advisor partners with the business and other areas within the People team to deliver best practice services and advice to help the business achieve its objectives and strategic priorities.
You will collaborate with stakeholders across the business unit to develop and implement operational workforce plans for critical roles, implement organisational changes and reforms, and to address the priorities identified in the Strategic Workforce Plan.
You will provide expert advice and coaching to managers and supervisors across a broad range of HR matters including job design, staff recruitment and selection, establishment management, individual performance management and resolution of workplace issues (grievances).
This role provides advice and support to all Metro West Correctional Centres including those on the Francis Greenaway Complex (Windsor), Emu Plains and Silverwater. There are a mix of custodial, administration, industry and offender services and program staff at each worksite.
About You:
You’re a well-rounded HR Generalist and a leader with demonstrated experience in HR projects and change across multiple work sites. You’re a strong and engaging communicator, from motivating employees to presenting to senior stakeholders.
You’re a strategic thinker, confident in your ability to undertake research and analysis and present your recommendations clearly, promoting workforce strategies that will support service and business improvements.
You’ll be comfortable using a range of applications and technology to manage records, information and resources.
