Financial Accountant (Fixed Assets & Finance Operations)

Employment type: Temporary Full-Time up to 18 months
Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8, ($99.431 – $110,064 pa), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
Financial Accountant reporting to the Manager – Companies, Concession and Capital, you will be working in collaboration with our stakeholders to support the management of the Department’s statutory and financial reporting obligations to ensure the organisation is compliant with accounting standards and financial obligation.

What you’ll do
The role is a technical role responsible for supporting the management of the Department’s statutory and financial reporting obligations. Reporting to the Manager Companies, Concessions and Capital, you will assist with the deliverables related to statutory financial statements and other matters related to the financial reporting function that accurately reflect the organisation’s true financial position.
The role supports financial reporting, month end closing procedures, maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger(s), capital and service concession assets/liabilities management (including valuations, capitalisation and/or disposals, impairment of assets, depreciation) and development and maintenance of internal business units and external auditor’s relationships. The role supports and advises Financial Management and Reporting team on key contemporary statutory and financial reporting issues.
