Finance Officer

Location: Parramatta

Employment type: Temporary Full-Time for up to 30 June 2024

Salary: Clerk Grade 5/6 ($87,493 to $96,540 pa), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

You will be working in a close-knit team environment to support all aspect of financial support and reporting. You will have the opportunity to work in a flexible working environment and rewarding atmosphere.

This focus of this role will be to manage and coordinate the capitalisation of projects in a timely manner. This will involve a high level of integration and communication with Senior Program Managers, Project Managers and the Fixed Assets Accounting team. This role will also provide general financial administration and support to enable delivery of capital projects. This is a unique opportunity to work in a Program Management Office (or PMO) that will provide you with invaluable knowledge, insight and experience into best practice portfolio, program and project management processes, governance, systems and tools.

What you’ll do

As part of the Major Program Delivery PMO team, you will:

• Coordinate the Capitalisation Process with Senior Program Manager and Program Managers in order to ensure that projects are capitalised in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitor project stages and relevant financial related deadlines to ensure that projects are capitalised in a timely manner.
• Provide support and guidance to Senior Program Managers, Project Managers and other stakeholders on the project Capitalisation process.
• Provide general financial support, reporting and assistance to the Capital Works Program.
• Assist with project finance related queries.
• Maintain a filing system for the tracking of key financial documents.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

What we’re looking for

The successful candidate must demonstrate strong capabilities in:

• Coordinating and communicating with various stakeholders.
• Organisation and planning.
• The use of financial management systems, preferably SAP
• Project finance administration and project financial related matters.
• Financial reporting and analysis.
• Capitalisation of projects.

In addition, you will also demonstrate Advanced knowledge of excel and possess Accounting related work experience and / or qualifications.

It is an essential requirement of the role that successful applicants are fully vaccinated and able to provide acceptable proof of vaccination status.
