About the Agency

Resilience NSW is a new Executive Agency in the Premier and Cabinet cluster, established to transform the whole of government approach to disaster management in NSW. Resilience NSW leads and coordinates disaster prevention, management, and recovery – learning from experience to drive strategies and investment to reduce risk, build resilience of NSW communities, and give confidence to our communities to live, work and invest in NSW.

Resilience NSW keeps people and communities at the heart of everything it does. By leading a whole of government approach to disaster recovery and resilience, we ensure that people are cared for, acknowledged and empowered – so that all NSW communities are better prepared for and supported on their journey of recovery from any crisis or disaster event.

About the role

This newly created role is part of a newly formed team, and its short-term focus will be to bring skilled talent into the agency. Further to this key initial priority, the People & Culture team will also leverage your expertise to design and deliver a suite of high-quality people and culture programs and initiatives that drive a high-performing culture and create a strong employee value proposition.

Key responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to):

• Providing expert advice to the business about complex and/or high-risk HR matters particularly relating to Government Sector Employment, best-practice recruitment, performance development and team management.
• Providing high-quality operational HR support and advice to divisional stakeholders across all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, talent management, health and wellbeing and professional development.
• Developing and embedding the Talent Framework for the agency to drive continued improvement in identification of talent to maximise the effectiveness of development opportunities for our people.
• Partnering with agency staff, by providing advice and guidance, to build capacity in people management and improve practice and outcomes that support achieving agency and individual career goals.
• Developing and embedding a Recruitment and Selection Framework for the agency to provide consistent and equitable recruitment practices.

About you

Your skill and experience in partnering with stakeholders has earnt you a reputation for being a trusted advisor and expert in your field. You have energy and determination to make a difference, drive an ambitious people agenda and support the organisation and its people to achieving great results.

You will be able to demonstrate:

• A breadth and depth of experience that will enable you to champion and embed new HR initiatives into a newly formed progressive and dynamic work environment.
• Experience of providing sound advice and partnering with stakeholders to work through HR issues in a multifaceted organisation underpinned by specific legislation.
• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• An ability and willingness to travel within NSW and support other operational roles during disasters, emergencies, and other events, consistent with skills, background and personal circumstances.

This is a full-time role based in Olympic Park from later in the year. It is a Clerk Grade 9/10; Salary is $113,343 – $124,901 plus employers’ contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
