Our NOVONIX Battery Technology Solutions division, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, focuses on innovative battery research and development, along with providing advanced battery testing equipment and services on a global scale. In Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA, our Anode Materials division manufactures our synthetic graphite anode materials used to make lithium-ion batteries which power electric vehicles, personal electronics, medical devices, energy storage units, and more.

Role Summary:

This person will report directly to Engineering and oversee software development and implementation. As a Software Developer, you will be delivering innovative solutions to tough problems, and providing key multi-project competencies across software development, design, testing, and maintenance for various NOVONIX product and customer requests.

Responsibilities include:

• Troubleshooting Software
• Designing and running system tests to diagnose new and existing issues
• Investigating and implementing bug fixes for software issues

• Back-End Development
• Developing and implementing code for new features
• New database solutions to improve data flow
• Determining opportunities for additional features

• Front-End Development
• Designing and building user interfaces for NOVONIX’s three proprietary software
• Testing new user interfaces to ensure quality and intuitiveness

You are:

• Competent in multiple programming languages, such as C#, Java, JavaScript/Typescript, Python, and SQL
• Experienced with software version control, such as Git
• A university graduate with a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree
• A highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative
• Well organized and invested in the details
• Resourceful when it comes to solving problems
• Passionate about continuous improvement
• A critical thinker able to manage complex information
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Confident and exercise sound judgment
• Comfortable with ambiguity and changing environments

Extra awesome if you also have:

• Experience with C# and relational database implementation
• Understanding of battery EE concepts such as voltage, current, resistors
• Mastery of Object-Oriented Programming
• Proven track record of contribution to a software team and project success
