NOV Inc Hiring for Mechanical Engineer at Duncan, OK Full Time

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage projects from initiation to marketing
• Determine feasibility and profitability of new product lines
• Directly interfaces with customers, end users and other affected clients on new designs.
• Follows ISO 9000 requirements during planning, design and implementation of a product line.
• Creates and checks production drawings
• Design new and prototype equipment product lines for energy industry service, aerospace and transportation equipment, which includes ASME pressure vessels and trailer based equipment.
• Interface with production department during equipment builds.
• Interface with outside experts during prototype builds.
• ASME boiler and pressure vessel codes pressure vessel designs.
• Welding technology
• Perform verifying load and stress calculations as needed
• Some projects require that the verifying calculations be submitted to third party verification-certification entity.
• Assist in testing, troubleshooting, and corrective solutions on various systems on new and existing equipment.
• Maintain existing designs.
• Write copy for advertising-marketing campaigns.
• Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, procedures and programs, including but not limited to safety and environmental requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Protect NOV’s intellectual property.

EDUCATION SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering. May consider other degrees with qualifying work experience.
• Knowledge and experience with SolidWorks CAD software.
• Knowledge of stress and load calculations.
• Some knowledge and interest in automotive systems, DOT rules, suspensions
• Some knowledge of compressed gas storage systems
• Knowledge base of ASME boiler and pressure vessel codes is preferred but will train if needed.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic system design is a plus but not required.
• Some knowledge of basic electronics.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

• This job functions in multiple environments: office, manufacturing and rarely at field (outdoors at customer locations.)
• Must be able to work at a desk for extended periods while doing computer related work.
• Some communication skills are important.
