Are you an Emergency Clinician with a passion for health improvement?
We are excited to have received funding from HEE to support a Clinical Teaching Fellow post with a particular interest in health improvement. This is an opportunity to join our dynamic and friendly Emergency Medicine team. The post holder will work within the Department of Research and Education in Emergency medicine, Acute medicine and Major trauma for their fellowship time and will have the opportunity to work clinically in the Emergency Department (ED) up to full time hours. Our departments are committed to the Trust ambition of developing staff and delivering outstanding healthcare outcomes for patients.
Applications are welcomed for the position of Clinical Teaching Fellow in Health Improvement for a 12 month period starting in September 2022. This post would be an ideal opportunity for someone who has a particular interest in Health Promotion and it’s integration within the Emergency Department.
Main duties of the job
- Support the SCALES (Structured Conversations About Lifestyle in Emergency Settings) project team by developing an education package for clinicians regarding the new screening and brief intervention planned for ED Clinical assessments.
- Develop a training package to help support and develop ED Staff communication skills, particularly focusing on addressing lifestyle factors in ED.
- Deliver and progress health improvement education training to Emergency Medicine core trainees as a part of Enhancing Generalist Skills
- Champion the SCALES and other Health Improvement Projects within the ED
- Represent the SCALES team as a leader in education at departmental meetings
- To subsequently identify other areas around health improvement, and develop a potential fellow programme to support this work in future.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post. - Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£41.90 for enhanced and £21.90 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay).
