Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Accountant to join the Finance team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. We are looking for an ambitious technical accountant with strong excel skills and a keen attention to detail, to support all aspects of financial accounting and reporting for key areas of the balance sheet and cash flow forecasting.
Main duties of the job
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, the post holder will work alongside another Financial Accountant covering the key responsibilities together. This post requires a combination of technical accounting skills and managerial experience to supervise the Assistant Financial Accountant.
The post holder will be play a key role in delivering the Financial Reporting agenda for the Trust, by providing dedicated support to the Senior Financial Accountant in the production of the monthly and Annual Accounts, including submission of all NHS statutory financial accounts and returns, ensuring these present a true and fair view. They will also have responsibility for managing the collation and validation of all the Trust’s Balance Sheet control accounts.
The post will also have responsibility for cash flow forecasting and reporting, including an overview of bank reconciliations and contribution to treasury investments.
The post holder will be responsible for the inventory accounting function including reconciliation and understanding of all stock activities recorded on and ‘off’ the Trust’s Statement of Financial Position. The post holder will produce, analyse and report stock inventory levels to key stakeholders in the organisation whilst maintaining accurate accounting records, having responsibility for monitoring all inventory transactions in the general ledger.

The post holder will be based at City Hospital Campus, but will work flexibly from home and across all Trust and external locations as required.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
