An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NUH Central Finance team for a Finance Analyst for Medical and Dental Pay. The role will help to provide financial management support to operational and corporate colleagues. Working with the Senior Finance Manager, you will provide analytical support in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly and annual management accounts.
Your other duties will include reporting on Medical and Dental performance, implementing controls and efficiencies around premium spend, development of business plans, targeting areas for improvement, process change, and providing Establishment Control support for junior doctors. The role includes day to day line management of a Management Accounts Assistant.

The ideal candidate will be working towards a professional accounting qualification, with prior experience of working in a financial management environment.

The NUH Finance, Information and Procurement directorate employs in the region of 150 staff. The Financial Management department, provides on-going financial/business advice and support to the Trust’s Divisions. The department utilises tools such as Service Line Reporting, Patient Level Costing, and benchmarking (Model Hospital etc.). These tools are used to help our operational colleagues develop a better understanding of their financial position and improve the effectiveness of their services.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the post holder will provide financial support both to the directorates and the associated financial management team. The role will involve providing support to budget holders for Medical and Dental expenditure by maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the financial ledgers to ensure the robustness of the financial information provided and reporting/explaining variances to finance colleagues.
This post is based at Trust HQ (City Campus). The successful candidate will be expected to travel when necessary between the City Campus and the QMC Campus and occasionally to other sites to attend meetings. The Covid pandemic has required a flexible approach with greater emphasis on home working during the peaks of the pandemic.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
