Adult Critical Care are looking to employ a motivated and conscientious Critical Care Education Lead to join our friendly and dynamic multi professional team caring for critically ill patients and their families. The post holder will be a proactive role model who leads in the clinical environment on the provision of clinical education and assessment of competence in Critical Care. You will co-ordinate the development and implementation of education and have experience in an education band 6 role previously. You will have the ability to lead a team, prioritise and respond to educational developments and deliver a comprehensive educational plan.
The post holder should be a registered nurse with a degree in nursing or health related studies. They should have completed post registration education in critical care together with a mentor /assessor qualification.
They should have recent experience in Critical Care, both care of level 2 & 3 patients.
You will need to lead the team in the development of Critical Care by promoting excellence and having innovative thinking. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work under pressure in what can be a stressful environment with complex situations. The Critical Care service at the Queens Medical Centre Campus encompasses 29 Level 3 beds on Adult Intensive Care and 20 Level 2 beds on High Dependency. Critical Care at the City Campus consists of a combined unit with 17 beds.

The Education Lead will be required to:
To ensure the delivery of care is in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines and practices of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
To manage the Educators to ensure individuals’ personal and development needs are met.
To ensure that continuing professional development is provided for all staff, including students and elective placements, so that the required level of knowledge and competence is maintained / achieved.
To ensure the Education team maintain the mandatory training database.
To oversee the development of mandatory training, team days and the critical care foundation programme.
To lead the Educational Audits and any actions following these as required.
To organise Critical Care Educational Programmes to provide the opportunity for staff to develop their skills in A-E assessment and critical care skills etc.
To contribute to the monitoring and control of expenditure and the use of resources.
To contribute the effective management of change in response to clinical or organisation demands.
To apply appropriate Divisional and Trust clinical governance strategies to the clinical area.
Must be able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trust’s “We Listen, We Care” behavioural standards.
