The Recruitment, Leadership and Staff Development Matron will work within the division to support and shape senior nurse leaders of the future. The Matron will work with the Deputy Divisional Nurse and Lead Nurses, to provide professional leadership, management of nursing recruitment and staff wellbeing for the Division.
The Matron will be a strong clinical leader, easily identifiable, highly visible and accessible to the nursing workforce across the Division. They will have a particular responsibility to support the developments of Human Resource governance, recruitment strategies and staff wellbeing to support retention of nursing staff within the division. They will support service improvement activities, to modernise staff and patient services and ensure the active involvement of staff at all levels, patients and carers in the way services are developed, delivered and evaluated. They will support the Corporate Recruitment matron, Nursing Institute and Divisional senior nursing team to ensure robust governance systems and processes for recruitment resolving problems and ensuring high standards are maintained throughout.
Leading by example he/she will drive up standards of clinical care and have the authority to get the essential components of care right for patients – clean wards and departments, quality care, ensuring patients are treated with dignity and respect.

The Cancer and Associated Specialties Division at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust comprises of multiple specialties including Oncology, Renal, Burns & plastics, Urology, Thoracic surgery, Palliative care, Infectious diseases, Pathology and Haematology.
Our CAS Matrons are pivotal in supporting our nursing teams and the wider speciality teams.
As a Matron, the successful candidate will provide strong, visible leadership, strategic direction and nursing support to the Division , whilst also working with speciality matrons to ensure a safe patient journey and the best possible experience through the Division.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
