Please note, this role works for 40 weeks in the year (September to May each year following the normal shape of the academic year).
Nottingham Trent University is seeking to improve how we support students. We would like you to join us in a pivotal role that will have a very real impact on student success.
The Contact & Engagement Service is a 3-year pilot designed to contact students identified by the NTU Student Dashboard early warning system as being at risk of leaving early or potentially needing additional support. This service is based within The Centre for Student and Community Engagement (CenSCE) and utilises ground breaking analytics to measure student engagement and then implement effective intervention strategies.
As part of this service, we have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for individuals to join the team. You’ll be part of a newly formed, contact and engagement team making phone calls to students across all departments to support their needs with guided support from a team leader.
The successful candidate will be resilient and organised with good attention to detail and excellent interpersonal communication skills. The ability to remain calm when faced with sensitive issues is a key component of the role as are the ability to build rapport, handle confidential information and situations appropriately, and liaise with staff and students in a sensitive, professional manner.
The ability to empathise and communicate with people from a wide range of backgrounds is essential.
The Centre for Student and Community Engagement works across key points of students’ higher education experience from outreach to graduation. The post is located in the Student Engagement & Analytics Team, a team dedicated to supporting current students to overcome barriers to completing their courses. The team runs the NTU Student Dashboard, an award-winning learning analytics platform designed to help students and the staff who support them. The Dashboard is well established, however we have recently begun a new phase of work using an integrated call centre.
Successful candidates will include a personal statement in their application that clearly demonstrates how they meet the requirements for the role (please refer to the job description and person specification). CVs will not be accepted.
Interview date: 24/ 25th November 2021
