Senior Lecturer Salary from £41,130 p.a.

The level of appointment would be determined by the selection panel following an interview.

Nottingham Institute of Education is seeking to appoint a lecturer in the area of academic studies Education. We are particularly looking to recruit applicants with a specialist knowledge related to our Education portfolio: Early Years, internationalisation, policy enactment, SEND, social justice, etc. We particularly welcome applications from qualified teachers who may be able to contribute more widely across the Institute’s provision, including ITT programmes. This post offers the opportunity to join a lively and supportive team of Education specialists, committed to providing a rich and engaging experience for undergraduates and postgraduates alike.

The Education portfolio is part of the wide range of education provision offered in the Institute of Education at Nottingham Trent University, and is continually under review and development to keep it fresh and relevant. There are therefore opportunities to help shape and develop provision. All programmes include work-related learning and the Institute enjoys excellent partnership links with a wide range of educational settings.

If successful, you will join a supportive team of specialist colleagues. You will have a clear passion for and strong background in the study of education, and ideally will have specialist knowledge which will complement our provision. You will be aware of current issues Education and have a thorough understanding of curriculum and pedagogy within Higher Education, whilst being able to analyse a range of data to inform developments in the provision and to ensure excellent student outcomes and experience. You will have a strong commitment to, and experience of, the maintenance and development of partnership links with existing and new partners, and a genuine personal and professional openness to new ways of working in strategic response to sector changes.

You should be an excellent communicator with the ability to bring the best out of colleagues and to lead on and/or participate in appropriate research projects. You should have a commitment to your own personal professional development, and will be supported in this, including in further study where relevant. You should have a good understanding of the current educational climate and the vision to deliver high quality programmes of study.
