We are recruiting a finance and accounting officer within the ESIF (European Structural & Investment Fund) projects team to support two ESF-funded programmes until 31st December 2023 in the first instance, providing accounting support to ensure that all expenditure is collated and evidenced to ESF compliance and audit requirements for both NTU and its project partners. This is a 0.8 FTE role working 29.6 hours per week. The salary banding for this role will be pro-rated for 0.8 FTE (i.e. £23,005 – £26,647).

We are looking for a proactive team player who is able to communicate at all levels, both internally and externally. An ability to interpret and present financial data accurately and concisely is a critical aspect of the position. This is a fast-paced role with the requirement to be adaptive to the needs of the project. We encourage continuous personal development and training is provided where required.

This is a fixed-term role to support these specific programmes, but these sit in a wider area of NTU that is going through a continual process of applying for new funding streams to support other programmes that engage with the local economic area, with great success. Therefore we are optimistic that there is scope for accounting roles beyond this advertised role in future for the right candidate.

Both programmes are part-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF). It is important to note that this funding has been fully underwritten by the UK government and therefore the term length of this role is not impacted by Brexit.
