Operations Finance Assistant
To assist with the long-term vision of Norwich City Football Club and it’s Regional Development Programme (RDP) by leading on, and implementing an outstanding service by delivering & developing financial process throughout the organisation and enabling accurate decisions to be made in line with objectives of the RDP.

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the core finance functions including the purchase and sales ledgers.

• Produce accurate and timely reporting to aid with decision making within the business.

• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports.

• Organise invoicing details from department leads and work with the Football Club’s finance team to create, send and follow up.

• Provide daily/weekly project finance updates to report back to relevant managers and directors.

• Manage the direct debit function and produce monthly reports.

• Daily bank reconciliation.

• Produce the draft monthly management account pack for review.

• Provide assistance in understanding variances against budget.

• Ensure that debts are chased, and the debtors report remains accurate.

• Adhere to the organisation and Club’s financial policies and procedures.

• Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions.

• To support and develop the purchase order system for relevant management staff to utilise.

• Develop and assist with the monthly payroll process.

• Prepare the monthly payment run for review by the Managing Director.

• Ensure budget codes across the organisation are implemented correctly.

• To be approachable to staff and customers.

• To build relationships with key stakeholders within the organisation.

• To act as a role model and drive culture throughout the staffing structure.

• To achieve all the delivery goals set by the RDP.

• Liaise with, and maintain open communication with line management.

• Complete appropriate reporting documents.

• Administration as required.

• To continue to upskill knowledge in the role by attending CPD events.

All applicants should be:

• Experience of preparing management accounts
• Excellent organisational skills
• Excellent IT Skills including Excel and Word
• Experience with data analysis and variance reporting
• Experience of working in a small finance team

All applicants should have:

• Part qualified or studying AAT/ACCA/ACA/CIMA
• High level of numeracy skills
• Strong understanding of finance systems
• Understanding of payroll process
• Knowledge of business accounting requirements
