The Accounting and Financial Management Department at Northumbria University is seeking to appoint an outstanding candidate to join its Finance Subject Group as Lecturer or Assistant Professor in Finance and Accounting. We aim to ensure that our students are offered an outstanding student experience, and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a commitment to ensuring that they are able to contribute to this aspiration in a very practical, flexible, and dynamic way.
The successful candidate will contribute to delivering the Faculty’s strategic priorities, including the integration of excellent teaching, high quality research, and the provision of leadership on a range of diverse portfolios within an academic context. In addition, the role holder will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of curriculum content within undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of the department. The role holder will also contribute to research activities, delivering appropriate research ‘outputs’, income generation and ‘impact’ as agreed by the department Research leadership team.
We would be particularly interested in hearing from candidates in the areas of financial management, banking, blockchain and cryptocurrency, forecasting modelling, and sustainable finance who either have some academic or industry experience, can teach at higher education level, and contribute to the delivery of our Finance programmes.
This position will strengthen our profile, increasing our capabilities in terms of quantitative research/teaching delivery and therefore we welcome applications from candidate with experience in these areas.
