Delivery Driver duties and responsibilities

• Delivery drivers have a variety of duties in addition to driving their routes and making their deliveries. Other important responsibilities include:
• Following the best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading or unloading a truck
• Communicating with dispatchers, drivers and other team members to make deliveries.
• Meeting delivery deadlines
• Performing basic truck maintenance
• Loading and unloading cargo
• Tracking shipments and deliveries
• Obtaining client or customer signatures when needed

We’re Looking For:

• Drivers must be at least 18 years old.
• A clean driving record: Safety is our priority. You’ll also need a valid driver’s license, auto insurance and a reliable vehicle.
• Strong sense of direction: Be able to read a map and find your way around a delivery area.
• Basic math skills.
• Friendly, with great customer service skills
• Fully committed enthusiastic personality with a positive attitude
• Ability to think and communicate clearly and execute consistently
• Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision
• Must have solid skills in working with numbers and basic math skills
• Knowledge of seafood and meats is helpful
• Valid Driver’s license–Clean Driving Record required
• Occasional delivery of product to our customers with box truck, van, manual transmission
• Operate a pallet jack and/or forklift

Working Environment

Frequently lift product that weighs 40-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds (with help); frequently reach overhead; constantly bend and twist while stocking/picking product; operate a pallet jack and/or forklift.

Frequent exposure to cooler (32 F), Freezer (-15F) and unheated warehouse environment

Requires working extra hours as needed during the summer busy season
