Northern Trains Hiring for Assistant Finance Manager Commercial, MD & HR at Manchester Full Time

We are recruiting for an Assistant Finance Manager to join our finance function and be responsible for the management accounts for the Commercial and Corporate functions. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, the post holder will be, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and ideally be studying towards a professional accountancy qualification. The post will be based in Manchester although there will be an element of home working.

Your duties will include:

• Producing monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Producing annual budgets and quarterly forecasting
• Variance analysis on a monthly basis with commentary
• Assisting in commercial and operational decision making through meaningful analysis
• Managing all costs and expenditure according to budget
• Presenting the results at periodic meetings
• Liaising with auditors at year end
• Ensuring all financial controls are in place and be responsible for developing reports in the system

About you:
The successful candidate for the role needs to be:

• Studying towards CIMA/ACCA – those qualified by experience will also be considered
• Experience of management accounting,
• Strong spreadsheet skills and preferably experience of using SAP
• Strong organisational skills
• Good communication skills across all levels of stakeholders with the ability to influence and persuade
• Able to demonstrate development of reports and system improvements
• Excellent attention to detail
