What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Director, Finance & Corporate Services , the Manager Management Accounting directly contributes to shaping financial reform for the Local Health District (LHD) through driving the activity based funding policy and activity based costing, budgeting and financial performance management activities. The Northern Sydney LHD has an annual operating expenditure of approximately $1.6 billion. The position is integral to the LHD meeting its reporting and budgeting requirements as well as its financial performance initiatives.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification combined with the relevant training and experience that would allow the applicant to obtain full membership of an Australian professional accounting body.
  • Experience implementing new financial systems and financial policy changes, and providing expert strategic advice and oversight.
  • Extensive and demonstrated experience in variance analysis and capacity to influence change and drive efficiencies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of the concepts, principles and practices of health policy and planning, general management and associated areas relevant to financial management and extensive experience in the development of business cases, enhancement proposals and business plans.
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to lead teams in successful delivery.
  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate, consult and negotiate effectively with the community, senior health professionals, management and staff, senior executives of Government agencies and other stakeholders.
