What you’ll be doing

The JWCRR Finance Officer role will provide support for financial and associated administrative matters specifically for The John Walsh Centre for Research & Rehabilitation (JWCRR). The position will look after accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, acquittals, reporting as well as responding to enquiries from researchers in relation to financial matters for JWCRR. The position requires a motivated and an independent worker, who can excel is a fast paced environment and has excellent communication and teamwork skills.

All NSW Health workers are required to have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 30 September 2021 and two doses by 30 November 2021 or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant qualifications in business, finance/accounting (or studying towards) and/or extensive relevant recent experience.
  • Experience in finance or revenue, ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures and other legislation, including knowledge of the end to end finance processes and acquittals.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and attention to detail including demonstrated ability to present financial information in a simple and easy to access format and explain to non-finance colleagues.
  • Prioritising a high volume workload to meet timeframes whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  • Advanced user of computer software including Microsoft Office and Financial Management Information Systems, such as Oracle Financials, and iprocurement.
