Northern Gold Foods is a leading manufacturer of a wide range of healthy great tasting breakfast and snack food products. Our Port Coquitlam facility is currently seeking an Accounts Payable/Accounting Assistant to join our team.

As part of your role, you will:

• Match AP invoices received via email/mail to related receiving paperwork in a manufacturing environment; review for accuracy and follow up with any issues
• Code and post AP invoices into ERP in a multi-division company
• Collate AP invoice and related PDF documents into a payment file; maintain well organized digital files by processing documents in an efficient and timely manner
• Assist with AP payments paying particular attention to early payment discounts
• Establish regular communication with vendors for reconciliation of accounts
• Maintain regular communication with division managers and colleagues for approval of invoices and any concerns about PO or receiving documents
• Support accounting department as required: month end procedures, GL reconciliations, ad hoc accounting projects and a variety of other duties

What we’re looking for:

• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills including Office 365 suite and Adobe (paperless process)
• Precise data entry skills, excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
• 2+ years of experience in accounting
• 2+ years of experience in using ERP software packages (we use Syspro)
• Diploma, certification or course work in accounting would be an asset
• Exposure to accounting in a manufacturing environment would be an asset although training is provided ie. recording landed costs
