What is the job about?
This role is based in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. Our HR Administrator will report to our People Shared Services Team Leader.
We’re looking for someone ready to take the next step in their HR career. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a HR department and be proficient with basic HR admin tasks and case handling.
You will need to be an efficient HR professional who can multi-task several cases and activities in a very fast-paced team and organisation. Our HR team are true experts and support the business with the entire colleague life cycle, on a global scale. No one day is ever the same.
What exactly will you do?
Contribute to and own a range of HR generalist projects across the employee life cycle
Supporting the recruitment onboarding process; conducting pre-employment checks and producing offer letters/contracts.
Monitoring and logging employee absence, raising and actioning triggers and conducting return to work meetings.
Attending grievance hearings to take notes, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and discussing the case with the investigating officer.
Ensure all HR policies are in line with employment law and provide advice and guidance to managers, and employees
Creating/issuing documentation for probation completions, flexible working requests, change to contracts, absences, leavers and processing on our HR system.
Support with the ongoing development of our HR system to maintain the integrity of the employee data in our systems
Support the wider people team – recruitment, training and development, colleague engagement to ensure we deliver on having the right people, with the right skills, in the right place at the right time!

Although, this is a 9-5 job, on occasion you may be required to work outside of these hours. This role is best suited to candidates looking to advance their skillset.

Bonus points
Proven experience in an HR role / knowledge of human resources processes
Experienced administrator who can prioritise and organise
Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS Powerpoint, in particular)
CIPD Level 3 qualified or equivalent is preferred but not essential
Experience with HR databases / People HR
