Northbridge Recruitment is looking for a skilled and experienced Finance Officer / Accounts Clerk to join the NSW Government for a contract with the potential to extend.

Primary purpose of the role

The role assists the Manager of Financial Accounting Operations with general ledger reconciliations and also assists the Senior Finance Officer with the preparation of month-end journals and processing to ensure ledger integrity.

Key accountabilities

• Preparation of small to medium reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner, including investigations and corrections where required
• Responsible for the preparation and processing of monthly journals
• Assist with general ledger closing routines for month-end and year-end
• Preparation and management of inter-agency invoicing and partnership agreement invoicing
• Assist in testing enhancements and upgrades within the ERP and other corporate systems
• Prepare data for audit requests and provide reconciliations and samples for the Audit Office in accordance with the Client Assistance Schedule.

Essentials:

• Ability and willingness to learn new things quickly and easily adapt to the use of different systems preferred S4HANA
• An eye for detail and demonstrated strength in data entry and administrative processes, with experience in document management and record management systems
• Demonstrated the ability for the preparation of small to medium Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders and clients.
• Advanced skills in Excel including Vlookup, Pivot table, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
