North Star BlueScope Steel Hiring for Quality Metallurgist at Delta, OH Full Time

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and dress mill orders to meet customer specifications and purchase orders.
• Ensure adherence of North Star BlueScope products to industry and customer standards.
• Assist in the development of customer and North Star BlueScope Steel specifications.
• Maintain material specifications, rolling codes, and North Star BlueScope Steel’s grade book.
• Effectively communicate with customers, sales personnel, operations, and outside processors to result in positive customer relations to develop new products based on customer inquiries and mill capabilities.
• Manage and on trials for product development.
• Development and maintenance of product data sheets to streamline sales inquiries.
• Ensure adherence of all departmental personnel to safety and housekeeping practices.
• Display solid technical skills in developing new products/grades, improving current products to establish quality control practices, and performing metallurgical investigations.
• Effectively communicate with all personnel within the plant while implementing managerial techniques to enhance a union-free environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in Material Science or Metallurgical Engineering

• Experience in the steel industry
