We seek to appoint a passionate, dedicated and highly motivated Teacher of Business with the skills and experience to deliver successful outcomes both at KS3 and KS4. The Business department is led by an Assistant Head Teacher and so the successful candidate will receive support from one of our most experienced and knowledgeable staff with a clear passion for this subject. Year on year, Business is the most popular Option subject in the school and this is due to its reputation for outstanding outcomes and fun, engaging lessons. The successful candidate will join a team of experienced and well-respected staff who will provide support, mentoring and allow them the freedom to experiment and develop their own style. All lessons are based in IT classrooms so that students can access a range of resources to support their learning.

We are oversubscribed in almost every single year group, which reflects the first-class facilities we have on site as well as our fantastic students and staff who make the school a great place to learn. We pride ourselves on achieving outstanding outcomes in a school with an inclusive ethos that has superb pastoral care and a strong commitment to staff mental health and work-life balance.

Ofsted visited Baysgarth in October 2017 and concluded that we are a Good school which ‘has gone from strength to strength’ and is making ‘good progress on the journey to outstanding’. In terms of student achievement, Ofsted reported that ‘Overall progress was in the top 10% nationally … [and] current pupils are making strong progress in all year groups.’ The DfE have concluded that ‘there is no better performing similar school within 75 miles of Baysgarth’ and it is our mission to recruit the most talented staff to continue this progress.

Baysgarth School is an 11-16 comprehensive with approximately 930 pupils on roll; a number that will rise to over 1,000 in the next few years. The successful candidate will be expected to have pride, passion, positivity and vision and a desire to ensure the school has the highest possible reputation in the local community and beyond.
