FINE DINING SERVER/EVENTS, FULL-TIME, STARTING AT $22.00/HR
$5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS
For over 35 years, North Hill, a not-for-profit senior living community located in Needham, Massachusetts, has provided vibrant living opportunities to people 65+ by offering a host of hospitality, wellness and health care services. Under the supervision of the Dining and Catering Manager, Fine Dining Server and Event Staff serves food and beverages to residents in dining rooms and special events in accordance with established North Hill policies and procedures. They performs duties under the direction of the Dining Services Manager, to assure that quality food service is provided to meet the needs of the residents.
HOURS: 12:00-8:30 5x/week, one weekend day and some holidays required
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES

- Correctly completes opening and closing duties, checks in with Host when completed
- Attends pre-meal team meeting
- Serves food in dining room as instructed in accordance with fine dining protocol
- Takes food and beverage orders from residents and serves meals on a timely basis that are both presentable and appetizing in appearance
- Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Checks in with the Residents and guests in timely manner after each course has been served
- Help with special event set-up, service, and break down in accordance with catering manager.
- Greets Residents and guests as soon as they are seated
- Familiar with the menu and daily specials
- Sets up dining room for the next scheduled meal
- Ensures that all food service areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are properly maintained
- Completes shift opening and closing s to include summary of shift.
- Meets department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements
- Complies with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environment
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong customer support skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with Team Members, Residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
- Work professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- When working in Resident areas, must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Attends and participates in in-service educational classes, Healthcare Academy and staff meetings as directed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School or equivalent
- 1 year of restaurant/ fine dining food service experience is preferred
