North Edinburgh Childcare Hiring for Childcare & Education Practitioner Job at Edinburgh, Scotland Full Time

We are currently seeking applications for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to fill the following post within our Childcare Team: –

NURSERY CHILDCARE & EDUCATION PRACTITIONER

Full Time – 35.83 Hours/Week (Monday – Friday) shifts between 7:50am and 6pm

Salary – £23,540.73/annum for fully qualified practitioners

The successful applicant will work as part of a team delivering a high quality childcare and education service for children aged 4 months – 5 years in a nursery setting. Applicants must demonstrate they have knowledge of the Pre-Birth to Three guidance document and/or the early level of the Curriculum for Excellence.

Practitioners have a key role in the efficient and effective delivery of a setting and they must be able to promote the learning, development and all round well-being of children by identifying and meeting their care, support and learning needs, as well as being able to oversee the work of others and delegating tasks to maintain the running of the provision and well-being of the children as and when required.

The individual will have experience of working in an early learning and childcare setting and will be able to work as part of an established team in the delivery of a high quality service.

All applicants must hold, be currently working towards or be willing to work towards a relevant childcare qualification, e.g. HNC in Childcare and Education; NNEB; SVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development or equivalent. If an applicant is currently unqualified we have an in-house SQA Approved Training Department which provided full Childcare Qualifications for this post that can be access by the successful applicant at no cost to the individual.

Please note that applicants for these posts must be eligible to register at practitioner level with the Scottish Social Services Council. They must also be a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme.
