Parts Counter Sales – Evening Shift

Corcoran, MN

Hours: 1:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Monday – Friday

Base Salary + Commission! Pay is dependent on experience.

The Evening Parts Counter Salesperson is responsible for selling inventory to customers and providing the mechanics with any products necessary to complete their repair. The salesperson will perform a variety of customer service, in store, marketing, promoting, advertising, and stocking duties related to the receiving, sale, and delivery of parts and accessories that contribute to the efficient, safe, and profitable operation of the dealership’s parts department.

Parts Counter Sales Duties:
– Fill customer and mechanic orders from stock
– Read catalogs or computer displays in order to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices
– Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available
– Determine replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts, customer requests, or customers’ descriptions of malfunctions
– Receive and fill telephone orders for parts
– Prepare sales invoices
– Receive payment or obtain credit authorization
– Take inventory of stock
– Examine returned parts for defects, and exchange defective parts or refund money
– Mark and store parts in stockrooms according to company specifications
– Discuss use and features of various parts, based upon knowledge of equipment
– Demonstrate equipment to customers and explain functioning
– Assist with merchandise displays
– Perform routine housekeeping tasks to maintain and enhance the appearance of products, sales area

Parts Counter Sales Skills/Qualifications:

– Previous parts sales experience preferred

– Must be able to learn the business system

– High school diploma or GED required, Associate’s Degree or higher preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
