Essential Job Duties
Direct delegated program initiatives through the General Hugh Shelton Leadership Center and in partnership with other university and external constituents who seek to develop intergenerational values-based leaders. Specific responsibilities will include the expansion of the Chancellor’s Leadership Development Program, making decisions for the program, budgeting and advising students associated with the program.
Primary duties of the Assistant Director for College Programs will be the following:
The position will supervise professional staff, graduate student(s)and student workers that support the program.
Support the Associate Director to enhance the direction of the Academic Programs provided through the Shelton Leadership Center, specifically with college programs.
Supervise professional and other staff, as needed, related to college programs.
Assist with the management of the budget associated with the Chancellor’s Leadership Development Program.
Direct the Chancellors’ Leadership Development Program, including monthly meetings, retreats, advising and other events when assigned, with support from the Associate Director and Program Specialist.
Develop modules related to leadership topics identified by the advisory board of the Chancellors’ Leadership Development Program delivered monthly to students.
Manage logistical and administrative responsibilities for retreats, international experiences, and other functions associated with the Chancellors’ Leadership Development Program.
Collaborate with Assistant Director for Outreach and Scholars across campus.
Research, identify and assist with fund development initiatives associated with College Programs.
Teach one to two, for-credit, courses per semester for undergraduate students.
Facilitate professional leadership training for the Center related to contracts and grants.
Serve as an instructor and/or on-site coordinator for the Shelton Challenge and Partner Site programs when needed.
Support the Associate Director with the implementation of the Annual Shelton Forum.
Advise Shelton Student Ambassadors Organization registered through NC State University’s Student Activities.
Develop and implement programs with campus partners to serve undergraduate students.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Masters’ degree in higher education or related field required. Bachelors’ degree in education, psychology, or other related field desired.
Minimum of five years professional experience in an educational field.
Other Required Qualifications
Skilled in organization and administrative details related to multi-program development and implementation.
High level of initiative and self-direction.
Ability to work well collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with leadership programs, higher education, and programs for women/minorities.
Experience working with DEAL Reflection Process or other formal reflections process.
Terminal Degree preferred.
Required License(s) or Certification(s)
NC Driver’s license or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Valid NC Driver’s License required Yes
