Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Salary (£) & Benefits: £45,000 – £60,000 + Benefits

Job Summary:

My client is an established environmental and engineering consultancy with a strong presence across the South of England. They are now looking for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team, and lead on Geotechnical service delivery!

Your role will be to Lead the Geotechnical Technical delivery and be the go-to consultant in this area. You will take ownership and lead on projects and have a technical mentoring role, where you will upskill engineers. You will not have direct Line management/team management responsibilities, allowing you to focus on the core technical team output.

The projects are diverse and you will be working on/with a range of clients and projects across the team which may include; Refineries, Local Authority work, House Builders, Contaminated Land projects and permitting.

Requirements:

You would ideally have reached Principal Chartered grade, however approx. 10+ years consultancy experience is the level we are looking for.

What YOU need:

• Chartered membership of the Geological Society or Institute of Civil Engineers (or other relevant organisation).
• Experience of mentoring and leading junior staff
• Self-motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Good Geotechnical capabilities

Your Responsibilities:

• Preparation and oversight of geotechnical and/or geo-environmental site investigation and assessment reports
• Checking and approval of geotechnical and/or geo-environmental technical reports
• Dealing with clients to assist in the delivery of projects.
