Job Description:

Based in our Sydney office, the Accounts Payable Officer manage the paying of invoices owed by the company in an accurately and in a timely manner. This position reports to the Accounting Manager for ANZ.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Check accuracy of invoices
• Input and code invoices to the appropriate cost centers
• Process invoices
• Match Invoices with Purchase Order (if applicable)
• Send invoices for payment approval
• Schedule pay runs based on standard company payment terms
• First point of contact with Debtors chasing payment of invoices
• Verify and process employee expense claims and manage the approval and payment process
• Update and maintain vendor database in a timely manner
• Perform reconciliations including supplier statement reconciliations, credit card reconciliations and more
• Support the month end process by providing supporting documentation for month end journals
• Report on Aged Payables plus other ad hoc reporting where applicable
• Identify improvements to the accounts payable process
• Manage all inter-company issues, eg. cross-charging, intercompany balances settlement and confirmation of balances according to deadlines
• Support and providing tax information for BAS returns
• Support in external and internal audit matters

Job Requirements:

• Education: Diploma in Accounting or Finance equivalent
• Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience. Auditors looking for first commercial experience welcomed.
• Language Skills: Written and conversational English a must

• Computer Skills Required: Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel. Experience with SAP, Oracle or Concur will be an added advantage
