Nightingale College Hiring for Assistant Professor, English – General Education Job at Salt Lake City, UT Full Time

Position Summary:

The Assistant Professor, English is responsible for development, administration, teaching, and evaluation of learners in one (or more) of the College’s general education courses. General Education faculty are expected to teach primarily online didactic courses.

Essential Function and Responsibilities:

• Attending a faculty orientation session.
• Teaching and evaluating assigned online courses.
• Monitoring learner performance in accordance with course objectives and published schedules under the Manager, General Education.
• Assisting learners with study problems and with evaluating their potential for successful achievement in course or discipline.
• Maintaining accurate performance records of learners and submitting required reports according to published deadlines.
• Maintaining expertise in online delivery systems to increase communication between faculty and learners.
• Attending faculty meetings and other faculty activities as required.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• PhD in field or Masters Degree with 18+ hours demonstrated post- secondary course work in English, Literature, Writing, Composition, or related field required.
• Three (3) years online teaching experience in post secondary education.
• LMS experience required, Canvas experience preferred.

This position is required to attend new employee orientation in person in Salt Lake City, Utah from December 6th through December 10th. All travel and lodging accommodations will be paid for by the organization.
