Maintenance Planner

POSITION SUMMARY:

Nicola Clean Power is a 40 MW power generation plant. The plant burns hog fuel in a boiler to produce steam to power a steam turbine. As such, the plant has a mix of heavy mobile equipment, fuel conveyors, high pressure steam, the turbine, and high voltage equipment.

Our company is looking to fill the role of maintenance planner. Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications. While this is our ideal list, we will consider candidates that do not necessarily have all of the qualifications, but have sufficient experience and talent.

Responsibilities for Maintenance Planner

• Creation of job plans including safety requirements, job steps, material required, purchase requisitions for planned work

• Obtains blueprints, drawings, instructional manuals and special procedures, as needed, from files or other sources

• Assist the storeroom function in the kitting and staging of job material requirements

• Create Gantt charts and critical path analysis for plant shutdowns

• Ensure the established schedule is communicated to all plant stakeholders

• Serving as the owner of the plant work order system and scheduling process for predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance

• Follow up to determine whether improvements need to be made to job plans

• Obtain bids from contractors and negotiate best price

• Collaborate with skilled trades and other leaders to solve problems

Skills Required – Maintenance Planner

• Previous experience in maintenance planning preferred

• Knowledge of Maintenance processes and activities

• Prior CMMS experience an asset

• Ability to supervise maintenance department as part of a rotating supervisor duty schedule for weekends

• Understands the need to plan work from the plant, not a desk

• Individual must be able to work productively within a team environment

• Self-starter, and able to multi-task effectively

• Must be computer proficient, and have excellent writing and teamwork skills

Qualification / requirements for maintenance planner

• Valid Drivers license

• Legally allowed to work in Canada.

• No PR sponsorship available.

• Red seal Millwright (preferred), but other red seal trades will be considered

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $110,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
