The basics:
Role: Senior Mechanical Project Manager – plant build
Role: Contract until March-December 2025
Location: This will be site based at the project location from Mid 2023. Immediate location will be home based whilst in the consultation, design and procurement stage of the project.
Environment: Manufacturing
Pay Rate: £400-£500 per day negotiable – OUTSIDE OF IR35
Hours: Monday-Friday days
Project budget responsible for: Approx £30 million (Total project approx. £75 million)
Overview:
As the Senior Mechanical Project Manager, you will be tasked to manage major capital investment projects from start (design and planning) through to delivery (installation and commission).
This role will be delivery of a new manufacturing facility from start to finish.
Reporting to the head of UK projects and working closely with the electrical and civil project manager you will be the mechanical lead engineer on the project from a management aspect.
The ideal Senior Mechanical Project Manager will have as many of the following in order to strengthen application:
• Degree in Engineering – Mechanical engineering
• Prince 2 Certified
• HND Project Management
• Managed projects in the region of £20 million Plus
• A good understanding of Mechanical engineering and a strong appreciation for machinery within Cement, Aggregates, Tarmac, Building Products (Bricks/tiles) or similar? – crushing and grinding
• Previous experience managing teams of engineers who will aid in project delivery/installation.
• Proficient in technical design packages – CAD
• Strong reporting, financial and budget experience
• Business-focused and cost control/asset conscious
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• LEAN Manufacturing background
– Understanding of CDM regulations 2015
– Chartered Engineer Professional Status and a Member of a relevant professional organisation
– Demonstrable experience of leading technical teams to deliver industrial materials handling systems
– Understanding of all relevant UK and EU regulatory standards relating to and including, but not limited to, Machinery Directive, LOLER, DESEAR, PUWER, CE and CA marking
