A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the right individuals to join the Research and Development Finance team at NHS Lothian, based within the Academic and Clinical Central office for Research and Development, at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

The Academic and Clinical Central Office for Research and Development is a partnership between the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian. Supporting researchers and commercial companies throughout the UK and internationally to conduct clinical research in thousands of projects every year, ranging from small student studies to complex interventional investigations and multi centre international trials.

As a member of the Research and Development Finance Team, you will work closely with dynamic and enthusiastic professionals who are committed to making a difference. As an Assistant Finance Manager, you will lead part of the R&D Finance team which supports Research and Undergraduate Teaching within the Board deputising for the R&D Finance Manager. You will be a qualified accountant, with relevant post qualification experience and proven financial management accounting experience. Experience of the complexities of research costing and NHS finance is desirable, but development support can be given. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial, accounting and business acumen as well as highly evolved planning and analytical skills. They will be an excellent communicator and a skilful leader.

Additional Information:
Post is for 37.5 hours per week

Opportunities exist for flexible working hours

Starting from 27 days annual leave + 8 days public holiday per annum (35 days leave in total)
