About The Role

Are you a newly qualified Accountant looking to contribute your skills in a Finance Business Partnering role? Are you wanting to work for an organisation at the heart of improving patient care within the NHS?

NHS Professionals is looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our friendly Finance Business Partnering team to cover maternity leave until the end of April 2023.

As a Finance Business Partner you will provide financial management support and advice to your designated business areas. Based mainly from home, you will partner closely with managers and budget holders to produce reviews and analyses of monthly accounts as well as utilise your knowledge and expertise to investigate highly complex issues.

Skills/Responsibilities:

The Finance Business Partner is responsible for:

• The preparation of management accounts
• Assisting in the co-ordination of key financial and non-financial performance indicators
• Proactively developing new working practices that improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial management accounts
• Communicating the monthly financial position to your business areas (including high quality variance analysis)
• Delivering complex financial information to non-financial managers and negotiating agreement on a course of action to improve service delivery
• Maintaining accruals and prepayment schedules for monthly reporting
• Training and educating budget holders relating to financial management
• Assisting with budget control

About The Candidate

We would love to meet people who have:

• A recent, professional accountancy qualification (part qualified, at final level, will also be considered)
• Experience of having worked in Finance Business Partnering/management accounting in a large, complex organisation
• A proven track record of providing effective financial advice to senior stakeholders with the ability to influence their decisions
• Demonstrable evidence of financial analysis and process development skills
• The ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
• The skills to communicate complex financial issues/messages clearly to non-financial colleagues (verbally and in written format)
• Be analytical with a good working knowledge of MS packages (Word report formatting & tables and Excel – pivot tables, look ups etc)
• The ability to work remotely for most of the time but who can attend meetings in either our Hemel Hempstead or Leeds office as required (plenty of advance notice will be provided)
