The role
The HR and OD Function provides a single comprehensive HR and OD service across the organisation. It supports senior leaders and line managers to recruit, retain, deploy and develop the organisations workforce, and develop and implement HR and OD policies and practices to enable a healthy high performing organisation that is diverse and inclusive.
As HR, OD Business Partner you will be an integral part of the HR & OD business partnering team. The post holder will work as part of a great and enthusiastic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff
The post holder will work in a senior advisory capacity and will support the Head of Strategic HR & OD to ensure that work stream of programmes are planned and managed effectively. This is a very exciting role which involves collaborative working and supporting the delivery of the regional HR, OD, EDI strategy and action plans, leading on core improvements programmes and OD interventions.

You will be comfortable in using a variety of workforce data sources to identify trends and support decision-making. You will be confident and credible in HR advising at all levels on a range of people matters and be proactive in identifying opportunities to embed the aspirations of the People Promise and EDI agendas.
You will be responsible for
Ensuring leadership and team development is given a focus to support delivery, culture change and the professionalism of the service
Leading the provision of an efficient, effective, high quality professional, strategic and well-co-ordinated HR & OD service to directors and managers
Supporting the Head of Strategic HR & OD with the development, delivery, and implementation of key HR & OD strategies, plans and procedures
Providing strategic professional advice on complex HR and OD issues in order to facilitate timely and safe resolutions and improve quality, efficiency, productivity and cost.
Contributing to the continual improvement of HR & OD policies, systems and processes in line with best practice and relevant employment legislation
Working in partnership with key customers to develop and deliver HR & OD plans which includes, but not limited, talent, performance, resourcing, engagement and capability development, EDI, supporting leaders and managers to deliver HR & OD performance
Working autonomously, including planning and prioritising own work and commitments
Leading on the development of local workforce plans that enables regions/directorates to deliver their objectives; and
Monitoring and establishing accountability on the overall progress of local HR and OD plans and projects to ensure completion within agreed timescale and budgets.

The individual
We are looking for experienced individuals who has significant experience in a senior HR and OD professional role, working in a customer-focused and fast paced environment and support to senior leaders in a multi-site organisation.
Experienced in HR and OD business partnering, with the ability to translate organisational objectives into clear HR and OD deliverables and project, providing constructive challenge and support to line managers at all levels to improve line management standards.
Experienced and confident in working with trade unions and adopting a partnership ethos and approach to workplace employment relations.
Extensive knowledge of specialist areas acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master’s level equivalent.
Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development.
Good presentational skills with the ability to convey complex concepts and technical information in an engaging and compelling manner using a variety of methods, including digitally enabled channels.
Ability to use informed persuasion to influence and negotiate effectively with others in potentially sensitive and contentious situations
