Summary: The SVP, Finance and Accounting for Lenox Advisors will have oversight and responsibility for all financial functions within the Lenox organization. This key executive role provides leadership of the company’s financial processes and activities and serves as the financial advocate and adviser to the President and the Executive Committee members as well as other senior leaders to ensure the health and financial well-being of the firm. The SVP, Finance and Accounting is the primary liaison with NFP for all financial matters, drives Finance and Accounting initiatives in support of corporate strategic priorities, and supports M&A activities while leading the Controller and Assistant Controller in the oversight, training and mentorship of the Finance and Accounting team. A critical element of this role is to communicate Lenox’s financial business results and trends, along with educating and addressing Relationship Managers’ and other Lenox employees’ questions with respect to Lenox’s financial transactions. A key part of the role will be providing financial planning, insights, and analytics in support of firm-wide and departmental initiatives, while serving as the steward of the budget and overall expenditures to ensure financial targets are achieved.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Evaluate Finance team and processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Provide strategic advisory and governance to department leaders on financial policies and expenditures
• Uses modern data reporting tools to develop and deliver financial KPI’s to Executive Leadership
• Provide regular financial reporting and analysis to Lenox President and NFP
• Partner with NFP M&A team in evaluation of any M&A activity for Lenox
• Plan, develop, organize, implement and evaluate Lenox’s financial close function and performance
• Ownership for all financial reports (income statement, balance sheet), periodic accruals and journal entries, bank reconciliations, etc.
• Drive annual budgeting and forecasting in concert with Controller and NFP, including identify major drivers and opportunities/risks; update as needed
• Analyze, understand, and explain to relevant parties period-over-period variations of actual or projected financial results
• Manage policy adaptation as it relates to Finance and Accounting functions within Lenox, including but not limited to revenue tracking, client billing and invoicing, commission splits and producer payments, payables and expense processing and vendor agreements and contracts.
• Work with Lenox Executive team on strategic opportunities and the financial deals associated with them; facilitate both implementation and administration
• Advise on and resolve any producer payout disputes or conflicts in partnership with the Sales organization
• Drive Finance and Accounting team performance by establishing department and individual goals, providing feedback on performance, and managing compensation decisions in conjunction with HR
• Ensure ongoing development and monitoring of internal control systems to promote highest level of standards among team and organization
• Serves as primary contact for internal/external audits with NFP; coordinates and compiles audit materials, communicates with auditors, responds to findings, and remedies deficiencies
• Serve as Finance Manager for Lenox-Tomorrow LLC and represent Finance on other committees (e.g. LBIS Licensing and Compensation Committee) as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong understanding of the financial management, forecasting, budgeting process and business performance measurement systems of Lenox’s core businesses
• Must be able to develop, document and execute detailed budgets and forecasts and to provide financial support in the development of business plans
• Strong verbal communication as well as writing skills to support firms’ financial performance
• Ability to effectively lead and manage the financial accounting monthly close
• Ability to collaborate and develop strong relationships with key leaders within and outside of Lenox
• Proven ability to lead a team of Finance and Accounting professionals in the full performance management lifecycle – goal setting, development, performance feedback, etc.
• Must possess personal and business integrity with an energetic style demonstrated by a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
• Strategic project management leadership capabilities.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Financing or Accounting required; MBA or CPA a plus
• Insurance agency/brokerage experience required, experience with asset management preferred
• A minimum of 10 years finance and accounting experience in a high growth organization with at least 5 years managing a team of Finance and Accounting professionals
• Background in evaluating financial aspects of M&A opportunities a significant plus
• Experience operating successfully in a highly collaborative matrixed organization with the ability to drive process improvement and affect change in the Finance and Accounting function
• Experience in financial accounting systems/platforms

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $190,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year
