POSITION SUMMARY:
As a key member of the production management team and reporting to the Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Manager is responsible for planning production schedules and overseeing manufacturing activities in pursuance of business goals. Responsibilities also include leading teams to meet or exceed Annual Operating Plan key objectives including: efficiency, quality, on time delivery, safety, budget items and mitigate production problems.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Lead manufacturing supervisors, employees, line workers, and other staff in the achievement of operating objectives while promoting a safe and respectful work environment.
Plan and direct daily production activities and establish priorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors to meet department goals and company expectations.
Work closely with other functions (e.g. Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, QA) in achieving key objectives for the plant and addressing and mitigating production issues.
Coordinate the supervision on all shifts in each production unit.
Develop and maintain daily plans to achieve the production schedule per unit based on assigned staffing, quality and delivery schedule.
Develop and maintain communication processes for both the supervisory and hourly employees.
Conduct supervisory meetings and provide feedback to staff on issues such as staffing requirements, production outputs, safety, labor relations and all available actual to budget numbers.
Identify employee-training needs and work with the Human Resource department to help in the development of training programs.
Work with Human Resource in all efforts to manage absenteeism with the production units.
Assist in the development of department annual operating plan and expense budget.
Responsible for the completion of employee performance reviews (EPR’s) and ensuring the department reviews are completed on time.
Enforce and support all company policies and operating procedures.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three to five years’ previous leadership experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented, manufacturing environment.
Lean Manufacturing experience.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, Outlook).
Superior interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.
Superior computer, organizational and analytical skills.
A motivated self-started with the ability to work with minimum supervision and possesses initiative to seek improvements.
